Our class investigated the measurement of volume in mililiters.  A soda can holds 355 ml of soda.  We used syringes to find the full capacity of the can.
Measurement: Using Metric Units
Pan balances can be used to find the mass of objects.  We found the mass of a sponge in grams before and after it was soaked with water.
We visited the NY Hall of Science and saw lots of cool exhibits, including optical illusions (above) and a simulation of planetary motion (left).
We dropped objects into a cardboard chamber to see if the other team could discriminate between the sounds.  In the next experiment we created a code  attributing letters to the sounds.
Science Photos 2007-2008
Hydroponics is a way of growing plants in water with added nutrients -- no soil!
We observed Bess Beetles and recorded data on their physical features, movement, and diet.
